Tips from John for your off days

While it is important for your body to rest between workouts, part of being fit for life is maintaining a healthy lifestyle, even on your off days.

Here are a few tips from John, one of our instructors . . .

1.Park a little further from the entrance to a building. The extra walking does make a difference, and it helps to loosen muscles.
2. Take stairs instead of the elevator. This is not a strenuous activity, and will help you develop good habits.
3. When you have a sweet tooth, opt for fruit. We all crave sweets at one time or another. Natural fruit juices are better for you and they allow you to curb your craving for the bad sugars
4. Make sure to stretch. If your legs are really sore, elevate them so that the acid will not build up in one spot. Also, stretching loosens the muscle to prevent injury.
5. Encourage an active lifestyle with your family. Jog together, eat well together, and plan outdoor activities together that will get everyone moving.

Best,
